Dance Adjudicators

Deborah Norris


Deborah completed her vocational training at Elmhurst Ballet School. After gaining a BA Hons and MA in Dance Studies she continued her training at the Jose Limon Contemporary Dance Institute, Manhattan where she completed their Professional Studies Programme. She then performed in New York working with many choreographers and teachers including Risa Steinberg and Heather Cornell.


Since then she has worked internationally as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. Deborah currently teaches at Centre Pointe Vocational College, Manchester, and is an Associate Lecturer at Edge Hill University.


She also works as a freelance dance artist and is currently engaging in scholarly research in Contemporary/Modern Ballet, having recently premiered a new modern ballet work for the CounterPointe series in association with Julia Gleich and Norte Maar, Brooklyn.


She is an adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals and the All England Dance Association.
